About me
OK, so we all agree that devoting a website to yourself is pretty, um, self-centered. Then, having a page on said website further informing people about yourself is even worse; it might even qualify you for first place in the Those Who Think Most Highly of Themselves competition. But that’s okay, because maybe you’re some wayside visitor and you have not got a clue as to who I am, and maybe you want to stay for some odd reason. So here you go.
My name is Lexi?, or Alexis? I have a constant name identity crisis these days. (I guess it depends from where you know me and all that.) I am 27. I like to read, write, and draw (one sentence that has stuck with me since my elementary school days), I love gymnastics, and I love (and, for the most part, like) my friends and family.
My dad is an architect and my mom is a mom. My older sister Stephie is 35 and resides in California with husband Mike and beautiful baby Anna, born July ‘06. My younger sister Jenny is 25 and is an engineer (enginerd?) in Chicago (they’re all quite brilliant). Both of our cats have now passed away. I also have tons of other relatives, including many, many cousins, and spending time with them is a blast. I can’t believe I used the word ‘blast’ to describe something. Oh well. I am also fortunate to have friends sprinkled throughout the whole dang country, and very fortunate to have a loving and sweet fiance, Jeff.
I am a graphic designer and web-developerish-person at a sweet, small firm in the Twin Cities area. I’m in a great field, the people with whom I work are awesome, and the work is exciting. But that’s definitely not my life (despite what it looks like, with my SO being a designer and all—really, I’m not that shady). I like a lot of other things, too, though I’m pretty darned content for the moment. And as always, I’m obsessed with THE INTERNET and Flash. Flash! Oh yeah!
I was/am/was/am?/was? also a gymnast, and still pretty much obsessed with gymnastics, in case you couldn’t tell. I fakely come out of retirement at least once a year until I realize how much I suck these days. Ha. I was a (not very good) level 9 when I graduated from USAG competition. I then went on to four years of competing NAIGC with the University of Minnesota’s Gymnastics Club. Gymnastics is incredible, and nothing has brought me more passion or preparation for the real world than this sport.
What else do I like? I love the ocean, summer, rollercoasters, acronyms, cereal and spaghetti and blue moon ice cream, and the color RED. I also run/bike/swim etc etc, pretend to play hockey/do ballet/shoot hoops/die on a softball team. DEATH!!! I like crafty things and college basketball. I am obsessed with numbers, especially the number 3. And I HATE bugs and mayonnaise and “MAAAACK”ery!
What else, oh yeah. I look kind of like the stick figure below (that never shows up - vzf!), except that my eyes are hazel, not neon green, and my body is not composed of thin red lines.
OK, the show is over, you can all go home!
