It's All Good
time 11:06 am feeling great! wearing old lady leggings and wild sweatshirt music MPR reading Fast Food Nation ready for breakfast next DMV
So it has come to my attention that I have not updated in several weeks/days/years. Or something. Someday (soon?), I'll be a total chump/champ, and switch to Wordpress or another little webware-y thing that will make this updating process more likely to happen and, hell, one day may even write updates for me! (Basically like "so I did this, then I did this, then I visited Jenny/Jenny visited me, then I spent the weekend with Jeff eating cookies, then I went to work then this." So, see, anyone could write this stuff.) In the meantime...alas.
So things have been kicking ass lately which is pretty incredible for a non-trip-involved January. Generally winter is a deathtrap for me, however, due to several things such as my new job, my generally peaceful life situation, my excitement for the future etcetc. things have been going extremely well. I know, shocking, LOL. Whatevs yo. Anyway I can't complain and am more than excited for what the future holds.
My job is sweet, even if I had too much downtime in recent days. That will soon change as I have a very interesting week next week, I imagine. I went to the Olive party last weekend (when J visited! heh heh) which was awesome and I miss the people, but it reminded me why I made the totally right decision for ME. It is pretty rare that I am so pleased with a decision I've made or whatever so this rocks. Even the stresses clients bring (and they DO) are so much more manageable. I can't really say more but yeah, things are great which directly contributes to my happiness.
Speaking of it seems I have to resolve a name issue. Many people in the 'professional' world know me as Alexis. I forget this from time to time which is bad, because Lexi doesn't exactly SOUND like Alexis. The other day when I called RCady 'Kitty' (hahaha I still love that nickname) he threatened to call me 'Lexi'. Which was funny, because, that is really what most people call me. But when I started looking for jobs, I felt that Lexi was too porn-star-ish and went with Alexis (note: this is my real name, I didn't just choose it randomly).
This has caused me many a problem because basically I never know what I should refer to myself as. SO the lesson here is call me whatever you want. Wait, that isn't a lesson. Well whatever, the idea is if I call myself something weird and you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm just having a name identity crisis. Comprende?
So that is that. Jenny visited last weekend and it was awesome. Friday we went to the Olive party and then out with my UMN GD friends. Except for not finding Ange's bracelet it was pretty awesome. J showed everyone what a great dancer she was and needless to say everyone wants her to move here (me especially, duh). No pressure though JJ! Saturday and Sunday consisted of, in no particular order, sushi lunch at Lund's (yummmmm I am so excited that she likes sushi now), skating lessons with Jeff/pond hockey attendance (sort of), Mean Girls showing/cookie eating, Guitar Hero (when does life NOT include Guitar Hero, is what I'd like to know!), Las Vegas planning, candy collecting, Pepito's and margaritas, and just hanging out. As always with the J meister it was a fantastic weekend. In a few weeks here I'll be in Chicago and we can repeat the weekend, except with less cold and more tea. Yay.
We went to Madison the weekend before that for the Gopher hockey game/general Madison hangout time. It was pretty cool to be in Madison without a family event going on, ha ha ha. I LOVE my family events, don't get me wrong, but sometimes you need to visit without the hoopla. Though the Gophers lost on Friday night (boo...), after enjoying a night at Tutto we watched them come back on Saturday. Pretty fun. My parents got into Guitar Hero which cracks me up but is really cool. GUITAR HERO!
This weekend... I did my taxes last night (I'm not my mom's kid for nothin')(side note: quite nice to be owed a few dollars instead of OWING $3000 AS WAS THE CASE LAST YEAR...OMG)... and Utah vs. UMN tonight (gymnastics, duh). !!! Pretty exciting. Next weekend could be a busy one, but in good ways!, so it's nice to have a slower few days here.
OK that's about it. OH yeah I have a new photo section as you can see. However it is password protected and I still haven't allowed comments on it (hopefully coming soon). If you want the password, email me. lxforever AT yahoo DOT com. Ciao!
ETA: OH WAIT one more thing. My digital camera recently died. As it is going on 5 years old (sad), Dave E suggested I just get a new one...I am going to see if I can get it fixed but in the likely event I cannot, any suggestions? I don't do anything fancy, just point and shoot. Thanks!
