time 1:22 pm, Mary would be so happy! feeling good, somewhat let down as it is Sunday reading comics wearing red tank, blue pants music all over the place ready for going outside! next going outside!
About two hours ago I had planned to go outside to 'get some work done', that is, attempt to begin my CSCY take home test. Of course, things like showering, eating, emailing got in the way and somehow I am led here to update. It's all for the best though I'm sure because the sun is at its worst about now, and we all know how I feel about exposing my skin to solar death.
Anyway I have been having an awesome weekend, and look to another in a few days here (the weeks go by so fast!). Well, Thursday night was Kinko's Hell, however, I did get all my projects printed and again got a huge discount! God bless Kinko's, or something. Thursday night was also very fun at work, the kids were so cute. I again had to fight the urge to kidnap them and even told little Maddy that if she wore pigtails again I would be forced to take her with me. She of course giggled and claimed she would wear them always (she's barely five years old).
Yeah, then Thursday I stayed up late again. MORON! Because I can't sleep in. Friday was the day to kick all my projects' asses and send them to the underworld. I believe I accomplished most of this, although it kind of blew by me. I have now finished it all, excepting fixing one of Sue's boxes that I messed up. I feel amazing; though it's too bad I have chosen to forgo feedback in these design ventures, I had to just finish it in order to keep my sanity and live these next two weeks NOT in hell. So now, four things left: CSCY take home; Organization and Management final; James' projects; and my Graphics Standard Manual for Sue. YEAH. I can definitely handle that. Oh yeah and figure out my stupid capstone/internship info with Babs. I'm sure she's thrilled.
OH YEAH also Friday afternoon Alyssa and I participated in Spring Jam. Across from our apartment they were giving out caramel apples and cotton candy and having other 'fun' events and treats, so we decided to take advantage of this. It was quite nice to enjoy a school-sponsored event and Alyssa's company at the same time.
So Friday night was definitely the best part of my weekend. Gymnastics club went out country line dancing at Mary's command (she is now an officer of the club, w/ Diana, Kelly, and myself, yay for Baby!). First we were fortunate enough to eat with Mary at Bailey (Diana, Erin and I). This was quite an adventure as I haven't been in dorms for awhile and Erin never has. It was also surprisingly good! So then we played in Mary's room for awhile and eventually Missy came over and we headed out (we had to get there early so us 21-year-olds didn't have to pay). Let me say this, I've never been a big fan of country music, well, none of us have except Mary who is hardcore about it all, yet after Mary's insistence and constant playing of it at practice I have found it to be not so terrible. So since Rodeo is a country - club (NOT an actual country club like they have in Iowa!) this was an important development.
We played some pool (and of course Missy kicked ass; what athletic endeavors is she NOT good at?!) and practiced our dances, and the lady even taught us a new one! The skating one, I call it. That was my favorite. Finally things got going, and then I just was crazy. Gymnastics club brings out the craziness in me, I seriously don't know where my energy comes from. I dance like I'm drunk though I am not drinking at all when with them, I must just be very sure of myself when with the team. Yeah! We did many line dances, I think I did three or four, so we were very proud of ourselves for learning them and not dying! Except the time I almost hit everyone else. And of course our favorite, when we make up literal interpretations of the music.
Wow, so we danced for like three hours, I was dead tired at the end. Diana and I had an amusing encounter with the 'door guys' as well. It was a great night. I love gymnastics club! Everyone is so cool. Sad that the others could not make it, perhaps another time. And it was just so nice to go out dancing but not have any weirdos try to dance with you! That's the worst, I just want to be 'dancing with myself / oh oh...' .
OK. Saturday I went to ballet, and after calling me 'Kiki' (I swear, having a name like Lexi makes people think 'porn name' and then they'll stick something like 'Misty' or 'Roxy' or 'Kiki' in there because those seem to go along as well. Whatever.) the instructor asked me to move up to the next level!! That was pretty cool, seeing as I've only taken about four classes there this semester. So now, post formal-pajama party, I must haul myself out of bed to attend 2 1/2 hours of ballet lessons on Saturday, because otherwise I won't be back until fall.
I also got some work done, however, we did not have a TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART party. We'll have to save that for later. I'm really all about that song right now, hah. Anyway then I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon with my friend Jeff, which was very interesting. I was distracted by the little children around me (at a park), I can't help it. And I was supposed to go to Spring Jam nighttime events with Kristin and co. but as night fell I again became dead tired. Everything catches up with one eventually, and soon I will be back to normal. Anyway then it was bedtime, very early, Matt didn't even go out for Christy Q's birthday until AFTER I was in bed! Crazy. That's okay though, I feel much better (almost normal) today.
And now, outside homework time. Too bad it's Sunday, Sundays suck. That's okay though, this week will fly by and then, Matt will visit! YEAH. Having him visiting always makes the week so much better. But, alas, he's just here for Friday and Saturday; school gets in the way :(. That's okay, I'll take whatever I can get when it comes to seeing my love...then after that only a week and I'll be with him for 100+ days! Hurrah :).
Alright, that's enough. The beautiful day calls. Have a nice week, soon I'll be back to normal. Happy 16th today to Michael Kelly! Oh god, soon he can drive...
