I really suck. And not the good kind. Sorry guys. I just haven't been updating, emailing, etc...I'm just lazy I guess. That said, Jeff has convinced me to update, now, exactly two months from my last update. Not a problem, although Loveline is playing in the background and this is definitely confusing me.
First things first. Last week for most of the week Jeff and I were fortunate enough to be Up North (same golden oldie, you know!) with my family and Jenny (who is part of my family, so that doesn't make sense, but you know). It was sooooo nice, let me tell you. Just great to get away, good weather, nice to spend time with my mom and dad and Jenny, and overall just a wonderful, wonderful time. Thanks parents! We met our parents at their land on the way out there, it is really pretty but I think I stepped on a beehive AND I remembered how terrible I am at peeing in the wilderness. Oh, help...
I got to go on two little fishing excursions with my dad, Jenny + Jeff and I went to the little island and then (accidentally) the peninsula...hahaha nevermind. Anyway, and I played pool with Jen-bird, she beat me twice basically because we played the wrong way, and we just hung out at the dock, read, got ice cream, ate cinnamon rolls, read the paper, grilled out, and just relaxed. It was perfect, and exactly what I needed.
Two days we also went to Crystal Lake which is AMAZING. We ran there the first day, it wasn't that far but too HOT! Jenny and Jeff liked running in the heat, I rather hated it but at least I tried a couple times. Ugh. HEAT is no fun for the running Lexi. Anyway. Crystal Lake is like this perfect bowl of clear, spring water set in the middle of the woods with nothing on the lake and no boats allowed. Just beautiful. You can camp there though, but seeing as I'm not really a camping type of person...I'll just visit, thanks.
Um, what else is new? I can't remember what I owe to this update, but you'll just have to wait with bated breath. I know I keep saying I am going to update this site but I am at a crossroads as to what to purchase....lxforever.com, gatobob.com (well I WILL get this, I jsut don't know from where), or alexismason.com....I know, it would be dumb not to be lxforever.com, but I also want to be able to get jobs out of this....we'll see.
I also would like to say I highly recommend My Sister's Keeper. It was amazing.
Next weekend I go home for Grandma's 80th birthday. When my other Grandma turned 80 we had this huge banquet and everything and Jenny and Stuart and I got to wear flowers, like on our chests, which we thought was so cool. Well maybe Stu didn't. Anyway I just remember that as a grand time. So it will be nice to see everyone and celebrate Grandma #2's 80th. Bless Grandma June's heart! :)
This weekend has been one adventure after another. Well now that I get out at 12 on Fridays at work, YAY!!!, Jeff and I get downtown time after work (his is the same deal, out at 12 on Fridays in summer). So we go to the pizza buffet and generally bum around, usually we go to the bookstore or text Diana to find various downtown locations (thanks D! haha). Well yesterday we decided to see a movie, bad move. It wasn't terrible but it was a big disappointment. I mean, we should have KNOWN, since it's Wedding Crashers, but still, we thought we were being adventurous. Oh well at least it was air conditioned and lovely because it is A MILLION DEGREES OUT! Ugh! Seriously why do people live here?! So yeah that was fun.
Then Jeff and Dave went to the Twins game and I worked on some cards and stuff. Later I met up with them downtown and we went to O'Donovan's. Well that was where I decided we needed to meet friends (note: I was not drunk). Since Jimmy James disappeared, we went for the creepster next to us. BIG MISTAKE. He was unbelievably annoying and rude. Oh well we tried. But then 'Janelle' + co. from Marshall Field's sat down near us and we invited them over. They turned out to be really nice and great people. Although they confirmed the rumor that outsiders find MPLS to be clique-y. Really? Weird.
Jeff just disappeared, and he's the one who commanded this update! Well that's about it. I'm too hot to write anymore.
ETA: Wow, I can't believe I forgot to mention Matt C.'s baby, since that is kind of how I started the update. Well anyway we got to see his baby and fiancee. The baby is ADORABLE, I know all babies are cute but this one is so sweet, and the fiancee is incredibly nice. That said, it is still weird to know that little Matty C, at 19 (20?) has a 9 month old and a marriage to be. We've always had different types of lives than that family, but this was kind of a reminder. He seems so much older than me now. But that's life. It was so good to see him, Mike, Jessie, and Sarah though. Everyone grows up.
