“It's a bad day / It's a train ride / It's a bad day / You're my medicine / It's a snow day / It's a full moon / It's a snow day // When'd you get down to my bones? / Where'll I find that wishing stone? / The beads, the records, all the calls, and the drinks alone / First by mind, then by music / you'll make this all less confusing / It's a slow dive down / a fast distraction / a strange fall forward / lame reaction”

Time for a Note
time ???? written somewhere else
Since I'm not at my own beloved Powerbook and since I'm feeling particularly nostalgic (read: wishing to be somewhat intoxicated but realizing this would make me even more of a Mason, and like an uncle, than ever), it's time for an update. This could end up on lxforever eventually, but we all know I'm all talk about that anyway.
So tonight after a late evening of work and a lovely dinner with Jeffrey, I met up with Alanna (from HS) for a drink. Yes, she too has recognized the amazingness of the TC and has moved up here to partake in the bliss. (Bliss indeed. Talk to me about that this winter.) Anyway needless to say it was a wonderful time and I for one enjoyed myself despite our moms being friends before and without us, ha. If that makes sense. We had some good chats and I'm glad to have another, albeit super random, little connection up here in TC land.
Two things were funny. The first is obvious (at least to me). We were talking about our sisters and I mentioned how I think Jenny is kind of 'fly-by-night' in some sense; that is, she is what she is, laid back (well, more than me, anyway) and fun, gets by and gets on. Alanna mentioned that she felt Melanie (her older sister) felt the same about her, which cracks me up because I mentioned that I thought of Alanna the same as Jenny to someone earlier: super smart, but go-with-the-flow to the point of, what is she thinking? (in a nice way). Por ejemplo. Jenny living in Humboldt Park (though it's really nice, actually!). Por ejemplo. Alanna packing it up to move to the TC (well, what Melanie thought). Ha.
Other thing. So she mentioned that she'd seen Lisa (Peppler) last week as she was up here shopping. Said she hadn't kept in awesome touch with Lisa through college but they still were pals (ahh the nostalgia is kicking in, guys. Save yourselves now). Somehow she got on to her 'group of four' girls in HS. That also made me smile - seems everyone's got some weird, random group that they think of from time to time; BRIKTLXLRS, or CALK!, or Alanna's four. It makes me happy to know that those things still live on, even if just in memories.
So end of that, this is a horrible first note. Anyway basically it was a fun night and tomorrow is LINDSTROM MOJITOS at work and I'm totally up for that. YESSSS. I owe about 2357592835 people emails, including but not limited to BABJ, Jess Fizz, my aunt Jane, and my mom, and for that I apologize. I'll do it up come this weekend.
For now, happy early Friday folks!!! Yeah.
