Feeding Our Souls
time 7:03 pm feeling hungry wearing black music garbage reading narrows ready for dinner! next food
Alexis Mason has come out of retirement.
Tomorrow I'm going to be 25.
Be careful what you wish for/believe in/tell yourself.
All three could make good openings but it's been quite awhile since I did a normal update so who knows where this'll go. Suffice it to say I've been having an awesome week already and I'll take that as a sign. I've had a great time being 24 (for real!), and 25 is a creepy feeling, but definitely doable. Good things are yet to come.
To the first: I'm doing gymnastics again. I mean, we are - U of MN as well as our new transplant counterparts. I've been three times now and every time it gets easier (and scarier, ha ha). It's something I've been forgetting I was missing for a long, long time. I'm back.
To the second: party time bitches!!! Well not really. But I will be absent from the kickball game as I'll be hopefully enjoying a quiet evening of celebrating (maybe I'll party for Halloween).
To the third: can't get into it. I know I KNOW I am so secretive!!! But, you know.
Anyway so since I last updated I've come out of RRRETYREMENT, been to Katers' beautiful wedding, spent an awesome weekend in Chicago with the Jennster, attended a TOOL concert with Jeff and a very drunk Erik, spent a great weekend with my parents visiting and got some new glasses, started tutoring again, missed a happy hour that didn't even HAPPEN, and did a bunch of gymnastics stuff. WOO! That's a lot. Let's be quick.
Already did Katy's wedding in an earlier journal. Weekend with Jenny was of course EXCELLENT. Great America - in the front - with my rollercoaster partner in crime as always - nothing is better than GA with the JJ. LUSH and other shopping goodness. Drinks and dinner at Grand Lux with all of Jenny's little buddies (including our beloved ADHD Matt, haha), candycandycandy time, Thai and Katie and Bill and the Malloys + co., sweet margaritas with work people, Jenny's awesome apt etc etc etc I can't wait to go back!! January for SURE.
TOOL was pretty sweet but not as insane as I had hoped. We met up with my bosses beforehand for some Gluek's drinking. Erik was wasted and we lost him in the crowd; thankfully he was not arrested during the show. Did my best to breathe in tons of pot smoke but to no avail (ha. ha. if you know me you know I'm kidding). The lasers were awesome and the intensity was exactly what I craved. I am so glad I went - thanks Jeff (JJ #2!)
My Mom and Dad came up this weekend (my Dad even took Friday off from golfing so super props to that!) and we had a grand time, at least from my POV. My Mom and I went glasses shopping and once again Target conquers all - damn, if you didn't love being a Minnesotan before, people, be glad you've got such a kickass company in your homeland. Yup. Now I'll look all schooly and maybe less dorky (not possible). Ha. They took me to Kafe 421 which was AWESOME - that place is the bomb. Well, at least to me :). It was really nice to hang out with them, watch The Office (thank Sarah!) and just relax at home. Wooooo hoo.
Tutoring started again last night and it was so good to be back. I was reading with Derie (?) , actually, he was reading, and he is so damn smart. I mean, if I were learning a new language, would I know, at age 11, to stop and inquire about similar words and spellings and meanings? Would I ask about the apostrophe? Would I work that hard (definitely not anymore)? NO. So he is a superstar. It makes me very happy.
There was supposed to be a HH after that but did not happen. Come on my GD friends! Ha. Sunday though I managed to see some of my other buddies at Wilde Roast and that was nice. They were complaining about people who get job offers and benefits just due to their personal skills and show-off-i-ness. Guess I'm the type of person everyone loves to hate, then ;). hahahahhahahha see #3 above.
Gymnastics Round Three last night. Found a few more takers and a few KWITTERS, but that's okay. People just need to understand that it's NOT. ABOUT. BEING. GOOD. It's about having fun and doing a cool sport. HELLO! Did giants again (giant, singular, ha), tumbled, got back in the swing. And I'm hardly sore. This is incredible. I'm coming back baby.
Aaaaand now it's time to fix some dinner and watch some Grey's! Here's to being 25 and not feeling freaky about it. Time flies - but is that even good? Ciao.
