All Quiet On The Western Front

time 3:29 pm feeling hot! reading Cat's Cradle? wearing shorts and Christie's old tank top music lots of drive 105, I am in love with that station now! ready for swimming!next read our free trial of the NY Times...yay Apt 3

Hahaha, that's funny. My mom left a message this afternoon to tell me about the Vikings beating the Packers, or something like that. She even told me what station it was on "in case I wanted to watch it." Yeah. Like because it's the Vikings my indifference to such things may be eradicated! Hah. But sweet of her nonetheless, thanks Mom :).

So I potentially have a lot to update about, including my first week and stupid stuff like that, however it's like a million degrees in here so we'll see. Plus I should get some Flash stuff done or something. Anyway so yeah, school hath begun. It's my last year in case you didn't realize and boy am I going to get my ass kicked. I have a professor that I am actually scared of. Yeah. No kidding. He's supposed to be great and all that but I can't help but be intimidated, even if he can't frickin' pronounce my name. Hah. Anyway but that class (GD4) will be the only truly irritating thing going on I believe, the main reason it's irritating being that (a) I have Scary Man for my prof (b) I have to turn out some acceptable work this time around (c) I'm in the class with all the competitive freaks. Damn. Oh well.

My other classes are cool. I have this guy for 'coaching' track and field (I put that in quotes because we are actually going to DO stuff, not just learn how to coach - yeah, I know you wanted to see me plant my face on the track over those hurdles. Don't laugh, at least I know how to triple jump.) who refers to himself as 'Coach', as in 'Coach doesn't like when you wear baseball caps in class' etc etc. He also is obsessed with WWII. He ALSO is a crazy old man which I can definitely appreciate, you know how I like old people. So that will be fun.

I'm in Advanced Typography with Carol (I can't put full names up here anymore because of the Google incident) and she is pretty dang cool. She's tinier than me, as I said, and she is very sweet it seems. Not that it's going to be easy, but at least it will be fun and creative. Plus Sarah and Susan are in there, and that helps a LOT. OK. What else. OH YEAH, haha, how could I forget, on Fridays I have 'interactive media' or something with Brad (Hokanson)(full names are OK as long as they are in parentheses). Now that class is hilarious, mainly because the teacher is such a weirdo himself, but also because Flash is funny when it screws up ("infinity!") and boy, do we have a lot of that (Flash screwing up, or us screwing it up, rather). Plus it's programming, which I can definitely appreciate as I miss the objective strictness of mathematics and computer science. It is a long ass class, plus on Friday, but with this schedule I now have only one class a day (well, besides M and W with the track and field business, but does that really count anyway??) which is sweet. Can't argue with that.

Oh yeah I'm also doing my capstone. Woo. I have to remember that.

It's senior year man, that's what freaks me out the most. Last week went way too fast, I can tell right now that things are going to be over before I can handle it. Then I'll have to get a real job and own up to this 'career' of mine. Shit. Just not going to think about it. So last week I managed to go out every night but Wednesday and Saturday, can you believe it? I know, that's not me at all. I got back from London Sunday night, I was already out of sorts. Then Monday night we went out to dinner and then had a red lights dance party here. Yeah for True Ten! Tuesday we went out again, this time to include Anna AND Sarah...thank God they are back! (Though we did trade for Misty and Sarah Ke, thankfully next semester this will be resolved). OK. Wednesday I had CPR, I luckily made it in time. Diana and I were very obnoxious. At least we passed the test. And Thursday Amber, Anna, and Sarah came over here. OH! Thursday was definitely the highlight of my week! Kristin and I made DINNER, for real, we made salmon, couscous, and steamed veggies. Can you believe it??!! We couldn't! It was very good too, we didn't screw up once. YEAH MAN. Anyway so then our friends finally came over which was nice. Friday I went out with gymnastics club and then last night was down time for I had been going to sleep at 1 every night (which is way past my bedtime, according to my friends) and waking up between 5 and 6 every day. NOT GOOD. I feel much, much better today, except for the heat, which I will hopefully beat by swimming for the third time in a week in a little bit here.

Next weekend Matt is coming, and before you know it, it will be my birthday! Wow. 22 is undeniably evil, but WCYD. There are too many exciting things going on, and school just gets in the way. At least I am motivated to some extent. I am still looking for a job but it's kind of nice to have some free time. As Matt said, 'maybe you could just relax' like most people! Hah. Now there's a thought.

I also got to see my cousin Mike today. He has a very nice room in a nice little house and we had some pizza. It was a sweet afternoon. And with that....ONWARD! (As we saw the guy in the car do today).
